Head of School’s Welcome

1314 Sheehan HeadshotThank you and welcome to our website! We hope that this website helps you to easily find the information you need in order to begin your child’s educational journey with us. You have taken the first step by inquiring about our school and we look forward to partnering with you and your child for years to come. This partnership will lay the necessary foundation for your child to develop into a confident, independent problem solver who is ready to absorb and discover all the world has to offer!

As you explore our website, it is most important for you to know and understand our committment to your children and the legacy of our school. Many of our children, mine included, have attended North Shore Montessori throughout the forty five years we have been in the community and it is our mission to provide a high quality Montessori Education to our grandchildren when they enroll in the future. As a result of this dedication, the Board of Trustees, Staff, and Parent Community have worked tirelessly to develop a Strategic Plan for the future as well as revise and redefine our Mission for our school.

At North Shore Montessori, we are fortunate to have a staff that is caring, nurturing and highly dedicated. Many of our staff members have been with us for over 10 years! In our classrooms, our teachers are trained and knowlegeable guides who motivate our students to think and problem solve while supporting them in the learning process. The Montessori tenets are present in all of our classroom environments: multi-aged diverse classrooms; prepared environments that allow choice within structure; teachers who act as role models and facilitators; and an atmosphere of grace, courtesy and respect.

In order to truly understand the benefits of our school, one must experience the educational environment. The key to this experience is observation. So, I invite you to come observe our children in action as they engage, interact, mentor and lay the foundation needed to be successful for years to come.
